What Is the Ancient Text Generator?
The Babylonians, one of the earliest civilizations, existed approximately 4,000 to 2,500 years ago. Their standardized writing system is called Cuneiform, and it is considered to be the earliest standardized writing system.
Our translator translates English alphabets into Babylonian Cuneiform letters. In order to generate this text style, we've selected ancient characters from these blocks which bear a visual resemblance to modern English and Latin letters. This is why the page is called the "Ancient Text Generator".

How Does the Cuneiform Script Generator Work?
This Cuneiform inspired text generator matches Cuneiform font characters with English letters based on visual similarity. It uses a custom mapping system that pairs each Latin letter with a Cuneiform character that resembles it visually.
In this system, the letter "A" matches the Cuneiform character "𒀀", which looks similar to an "A" and is actually used to represent the sound "A" in Sumerian and Akkadian. However, for "H", this system uses 𒀂, which, while visually resembling an "H", does not represent the "H" sound in the original Cuneiform writing system as found on clay tablets.
The Unicode characters used on this page for translation, inspired by the rich history of Sumerian civilization originating from modern-day Iraq, cover all 26 letters of the English alphabet, as well as numbers 1-9. For zeroes and spaces, the system uses a blank space to translate.
