What Is the Alphabetizer Tool?
Our List Alphabetizer Tool is a free tool that sorts any list of words, names, or phrases into alphabetical order. Just type or paste your list into the text box, choose your sort options, and click to see the ordered list.
How to Use the Alphabetize List Tool
- Enter your list in the text box. You can copy and paste from any source or click the icon to import text from a text or Word file.
- Choose your separator (new line, comma, or space) based on how your list is formatted and any options.
- Click the button to see your list sorted alphabetically in the output box.
Clear the input box and repeat the steps to order a new list.
You can also click the randomize icon (next to the upload icon) to randomly shuffle the order of items in your input.
Options
- Case-insensitive sorting: Ignores capitalization (capital letters), so words are sorted regardless of whether they start with uppercase or lowercase letters.
- Ignore articles: Ignores indefinite articles (a, an) and definite articles (the) at the start of list items, so the list orders keywords and main words.
- Reverse order: Sorts items from Z to A (not A to Z).
- Remove duplicates: Ignores repeated elements and creates a list with only unique items. This is useful for eliminating redundancies in large datasets.
