What Is the Remove Line Breaks Tool?
This tool joins wrapped or hard-wrapped lines back into flowing text. Paste in text copied from a PDF, email, or spreadsheet cell — anywhere line breaks ended up in the wrong places — and turn it back into normal paragraphs.
How To Use the Remove Line Breaks Tool
- Enter your text in the text box or upload a .docx or .txt file.
- Select how you want line breaks handled.
- Click Remove Line Breaks to process your text.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to see how the different options work.
- Download or copy your output, or clear the results to start over.
How Does the Remove Line Breaks Tool Work?
The tool offers three ways to handle line breaks.
- Join lines with a space: Replaces every line break with a single space, turning the whole text into one continuous line.
- Join lines, keep paragraphs: Collapses single line breaks inside a paragraph into spaces but keeps blank-line paragraph breaks intact, so multi-paragraph text stays split into separate paragraphs.
- Remove all line breaks: Deletes every line break outright with nothing put in its place, so words that were on separate lines run together.
Why Should You Use the Remove Line Breaks Tool?
This tool makes it easy to undo unwanted line wrapping and get text back into clean, readable paragraphs.
- Clean up text copied from PDFs, spreadsheets, or terminal output
- Prepare text for tools that would otherwise treat every line break as a new paragraph
- Fix text pasted from sources that hard-wrap at a fixed column width
